DAY 81

NEW ENGLAND & THE CANADIAN MARITIMES

Day 81 • A wonderfully Canadian day in the very best of ways - with a focus on some of our culinary goals. We started with a little family hike to introduce our guests to Tim Hortons. Later, during our sail, we snacked on ketchup-flavored and all-dressed potato chips.

Hearn Island is an absolutely magical island made of large rocks covered in parts by a springy carpet of juniper, ferns, moss, and other ground covers. Meriah was delighted to find an abundance of blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries all ripe and ready to eat.

This particular island was recommended to us by other cruisers as a great place to have a little fire. Cooking, eating, drinking, lounging - all of it is so much better around a fire. We thought fondly of our trip to the Georgian Bay years ago and smiled as we realized all the work to get up here has totally been worth it.
