SHORT STORY LONG

Short boat. Short story. We sold our home and most of our possessions. We planned on taking one year to do the Great Loop in a small sailboat. We knew we weren’t going back to the lives we once lived, but we didn’t know what the future held for us after our loop adventure’s end.

However, the cruising life sparked something inside us. You could say we started to feel a little feral. Addicted to the freedom of living on the move in a floating home. So, we bought a bigger boat, with hopes of writing a much longer sailing story.

SAILING ORIGAMI

Origami is a 1986 36’ S2 11A aft cockpit sailboat that spent her first 40 years in freshwater. Her name is inspired by our love to create, our desire to change form, and the beauty of simplicity.

While she was in great condition, there was a lot of work to be done to make a cruising-worthy vessel. As full-time cruisers, we needed a boat that was safe, sustainable, and cozy.
