DAY 19
NEW ENGLAND & THE CANADIAN MARITIMES
Day 19 • We got up early with the intent to make our first big jump up the coast. However, worries about storms kept the Captain up most of the night, and he didn’t possess the temperament needed for such an undertaking. So we moved up to the entrance of the Chesapeake and dropped anchor for a nap.
After resting, Evan ran errands while Meriah worked on some last-minute safety measures. She sewed and installed two jacklines and fixed the lifelines. She then prepped the cabin for the motion of the ocean. By the time Evan returned, the real feel temp was well over 100°, so we took turns dipping in that cool, brown water.
We did end up leaving and have since crossed the Chesapeake Bay. At the time of this post, we have entered the Atlantic Ocean.
